I need a replacement, but they won't do it because I'm too young. Because I'm fairly active, we're looking at alternative ways to handle the issues. At this point, the damage to the cartilage and the bones is manageable. My knee will continue to dislocate and I have to wear a brace (if the swelling from the surgery EVER goes down) while I'm doing physical activity. Right now, I'm going through physical therapy to strengthen my quads and glutes to minimize future issues. I'm not able to get another cortizone injection this year, but we're looking at other "lubricating" injections that may minimize the friction and potentially stop the bones from poking more holes in the cartilage.
