I had that Afterburn event thing marked on my calendar, was just taking a closer look and that was held in 2009.

It's every year. It's going to be November 12-14, 2010, but the website doesn't have the info updated yet. Keep an eye on it.

If you go to express yourself and/or appreciate a wide variety of people expressing themselves in a lot of different and crazy ways, you'll be very welcome there. If you go there to snicker at the crazies and oogle the naked people, you probably won't be especially appreciated. Don't get me wrong, some amount of snickering and oogling is inevitable but it should be respectful at it's core. Burners are pretty strongly against being judged for their personal expression.

The fact that you haven't been to a Burning Man won't make you unwelcome though, in fact it will probably be a good conversation starter.
 
I also meant to say that I obviously don't know you and Robyn very well, but from what little I do know, I think you'd be appreciated there.

Burners like people that can be respectfully appreciative of their troubles doing.
 
Amby just got owned. Actually Amby got owned about 7 months ago but you didn't hear that from me.

I am also curious about more details. It's obviously camping. Do people bring RV's? Any bands? If not, do people just play their own stuff? Is it a bunch of Grateful Dead or can you find some Massive Attack or Dieselboy being thrown down about the place?

If I take 4 hits of acid and engage people in the most bizarre conversation they've ever found themselves in to a tiny stuffed dog using my voice, will that be OK?
