I was watching the Lawrence Welk show on PBS Detroit tonight and one of the acts was playing the accordion.

That got me thinking, why did the accordion stop being popular?
It looks like a really fun instrument to play.

Back in the day I would imagine the broads would give it up quickly to a guy that could play the accordion.

Accordion players must have pulled alot of trim.
We all know how popular musicians are with the ladies.

I bet mudcat would have been a wicked accordion player.

we had a little crazy band in high school...... just for talent shows and fokken around.....

we were called argyle socks, and I think we only took melodies and tunes from real songs and changed the lyrics...

we had an accordian player. Matty Laverrde, he was a big jock. but he honestly knew how to play the accordian and he owned one (his dad did)....

he went on to be a QB recruit at Penn State but transferred to Mount Union and played middle LB. He won the MVP in the D-2 National Title game on espn in 2000 or 2001.

had lilke 15 tackles....

also we had the spoons, and a washboard, drums, and I played guiter and sang

we should have made a demo.

the spoons guy will be an espn sportscenter anchor in a few more years....
