On Sept. 5, 1882 a large group of workers gathered in Union Square to protest for an 8 hour work week. Thus begun Labour Day.

That is like 3 subway stops from. I can be there in 12 minutes.

Blittaaaaaay!

The entire northeast of the US and Canada is full of history.

Many of the events that contributed to the creation and boundaries of our two countries happened here.

Canada was home to the United Empire Loyalists, the USA home of the rebellion.

Plommer, I am not used to residing among so much ancient history. The area I used to live in So. Cal. was more or less established within the last 50 years, before that it was just uninhabited. You should be happy everyday that our forefathers let you guys have that frozen tundra of land, that you call a country. I'm pretty sure you were just supposed to end up another state similar to Wisconsin or Michigan. Thanks for inventing hockey and what not....Or did we do that?

Blittaaaaay! The Canadians kicked the shit out of the Americans in the War of 1812, problem was they knew nothing about geography, if they did they woulda divided us north / south instead of east /west, Canada should have included Florida and Ontario and the USA would get California and BC/Alberta.

Americans invented hockey, living in the tundra is difficult but we Canucks are a hearty breed and manage to survive, one of the benefits to life up here is we don't need air conditioning and swimming pools are only used for swimmimg 10 days of the year, the rest of the time we skate on them.

Canada still would be stuck with Quebec.
