Thread: Meaning Behind Your Posting Handle....

When I started posting, I had a cat named Mudcat. How she got that name is a whole story in itself but anyway, that was her name, so there's that.

I thought it was a cool sounding name - plus it has a sports angle - i.e. former pitcher Jim "Mudcat" Grant.

    Bob's your uncle.

For years I posted as Nighthawk at a non-sports gambling site. The other posters called me Hawk.

No need to get into the meaning of using Nighthawk because that's not my name here.

The first really large memorable score I had after i started betting horses for a living was with a horse called Cobra King. A very nice horse with a far to short career. It seemed like a cool name since it identified me as male and gave me a nice memory of counting stacked $100 bills on my living room floor!

Reno Cool was a greyhound on who I made my first ever official bet. I was determined to win at gambling ever since. No $100 bills here, just a $2 loser. (he closed to finish 2nd)

I am married to Mr. X.

I thought I'd spell it out, since it was pretty subtle.

My other online name, Cindigo, came from when I started working at a fashion company as a designer. One of my first jobs was to create a digital pallete and name the colors more interesting names for the spring season. Yellow became "lemon", green became "grass" etc. The navy blue I renamed became "cindigo". Indigo with a C. My name is Cindy. It fit, and has stuck since around 1994.
I almost fell over in the shower and can now totally understand why old people are afraid of it.

Bread, you are kind of a symbolic leader around here. No-one has given you an official certificate nor has there been a coronation but it's understood in certain circles. Being a leader, even a satire rich symbolic one bares a small burden of maintaining some sense of credibility. BG had a simple request and even though participation wasn't mandatory it was encouraged. Posters here chose to come clean and honor BG's simple thread with honest answers but the symbolic leader chose to do what he always does and make light of even the simplest of request.

Do the right thing Bread, do the right thing.

I can live with no. Short and sweet with no room for interpretation. Very leaderly sounding as well.

Bread is our leader? As much as I want to protest, I know in my heart it is true.

Best not to think about it.

Bread told me to sign up here as Teela. I did as I was told.

Actually, I think he said "Tella," so I goofed.

Played baseball at Marietta College in Ohio, wore #10. Used it for email account then my first poker account. Then became too lazy to become more original.
